‘ The mind remembers only certain things. The body remembers every-thing. The information it carries goes back to the beginning of your existence.’

What is Thai Bodywork
Thai Bodywork is a traditional healing practice that originates from Thailand. It is a therapeutic form of a massage that combines elements of yoga, acupressure, assisted stretching and energy work to help relieve tension, improve flexibility, encourage relaxation, and reset for your nervous system.
It’s based on the concept of a human being consisting of more than just their physical body. According to Eastern philosophy, the human body is made of energy lines through which ‘prana’ (life force energy) flows. When these energy lines become blocked, the flow of prana is disrupted.
I will use my hands, thumbs, feet and sometimes elbows, underarms to apply pressure to various points on your body, while also guiding you through gentle yoga-like stretches. The pressure and stretching helps to release tension and improve blood circulation, while the yoga-like postures help to improve flexibility and range of motion.
The more subtle energy work supports calming the nervous system and revitalising organs such as the liver and kidneys.

Effects and benefits
Opposite energy states can typically emerge after the session: tiredness, high energy or even sore muscles kind of pain.
Even if you feel tired afterwards, it typically indicates that your body needs some time for integration as its energy is being rebalanced. Usually after some days, you’ll eventually feel more grounded, energetic, alive and aware.
Other possible benefits include:
- Calmer & regulated nervous system
- Greater flexibility in the joints
- Enhanced blood circulation
- Improved body alignment
- Straighter posture
- increased lung capacity
- Stimulation of internal organs, which helps them to function at an optimal level

Why Thai Bodywork?

Thai Bodywork will be supportive, if you struggle with one of the following:

- Having difficulty feeling when to pause/stop/rest/boundaries
- Feeling overwhelmed by life & world events , being overly emphatic
- Physical problems like lower/upper back pain, neck pain and shoulder issues
- Problems with hips
- Headaches
- Sleeping problems
- Disconnected with the body, not aware of the tension present in the body due to too much doing
- Feeling constantly tired & having continuous low energy levels
- Problem with anxiety, chronic pain issues
- Not being able to relax, feeling numb, not able to pause/stop
- Going through a difficult period in your life such as grief, loss or heartbreak

TESTIMONIALS
A while ago I received two wonderful sessions from Kaja. I can recall the experience as if it was yesterday, my body still remembers 🙂 I remember exactly how both times I came into a deep state of relaxation (both physically and mentally) and timelessness, through the attuned touch being received and while I was being moved in different directions and stretched in yoga-like postures. This all happened in a calm flow, which made it very easy for me to surrender.
After the first massage I felt deeply relaxed for the rest of the day and after the second massage I had a lot of energy and a sense of movement / dancing. My body felt completely open and flowy. For me a confirmation that this bodywork gives you exactly what you need.
Kaja is a ray of light, very intuitive and attuned, which ensures that her massage is nourishing to your core.

Recently I experienced my first thai yoga massage from Kaja, and, as someone who has been going for all sorts of massages for decades, I have to say I’ve never experienced something like this and I love it! It’s hard to describe but I’ll try: it’s very gentle and it’s not just a massage.
It’s relaxing in a way that has to do with the combination of being positioned in different ways, the way Kaja uses her own body, and with the simple but profound aspect of touch.
The relaxation I got from it was truly amazing – Kaja clearly has “the touch!”
I will definitely be back for more sessions!

I’ve had the privilege to receive plenty of sessions with Kaja. After the very first session, I fell in love with Thai Yoga Massage and it remains my favorite type of bodywork.
Kaja’s gentleness, and sensitivity to one’s needs, create a field of ultimate trust. It was always easy for me to just surrender into her hands with a deep knowing that whatever needs to happen, will happen, that my body will find its way to balance, harmony and healing.
I was going for a session when I had a need to recharge as I tend to overwork, so that my body would receive the rest that it needed. I was going for a session when I was overloaded with heavy emotions because of the war that suddenly started in my home country. It was just too much to feel and I got frozen. My body felt like a stone. It felt very safe to express those emotions during a session, to release not only physical but also emotional tension as I felt held, seen and supported. Kaja would always meet me where I was at. I think this is a special gift that she has. Every session with her feels like the best gift I could give myself at that given moment and is a reminder of the importance of self-care.

ABOUT ME
I hold space for courageous women on their journey towards re-connecting to their body, to their inner knowing. Women that I enjoy working with, are those with the willingness to open up and believe in their body’s healing abilities. Due to challenging life situations they might have lost that connection, so they seek support in finding it back again. Once that connection is re-established, they are able to make decisions based on their truth and in line with their values, needs and their well-being.
My own path of reconnecting to myself and my body, getting to know and understand myself on a deeper level, started for me when I found myself at rock bottom in 2014. I had a small child and barely any family support around, as I was and still am, living abroad.
That was the moment for me to start my journey inward, remembering who I was, unlearning the patterns, clearing the blockages.
I knew that it was time to stop blaming the outside world for my problems and look inside for the answers. I signed up for a Personal development & Yoga Teacher Training, which became my anchor that year.
After being a yoga teacher for a couple of years, I felt a need to go even deeper and explore the ability of healing through different modalities. When I was on a quest to find my next step towards a new path, I stumbled upon Thai yoga massage training, while surfing on a website of a yoga school. I immediately felt an intuitive urge to sign up, without any prior experience of this type of bodywork. It might sound crazy to some, but for me, it felt like the most natural and aligned decision. The massage training exceeded my expectations, it was a life changing experience. As this practice combines mindful touch, movement that resembles yoga practice and feels like (silent)meditation, it felt like medicine to me. Medicine that my body longed for and my soul wanted to share.
I believe that any type of hands-on modalities are absolutely essential when going through a healing process. The idea that there is a mind & body connection speaks to me. Having an awareness (of patterns, traumas, beliefs) on a level of the conscious mind is part of the process, but oftentimes the integration within the body will be necessary in order to make lasting changes.
Your body is communicating with you constantly but can be eclipsed by your mind very quickly, if you do not allow space to listen to it.
